The Corrs Tickets

“The Corrs” is a family group from Ireland, which received worldwide recognition in 1998, after the release of its disc “Talk on Corners”. To date, over 25 million albums and singles of the group have been sold. The team, which included a brother and three charming sisters Corr, conquered the world, playing music that combines the elements of traditional Celtic folklore and the quality of melodic pop – music in the best sense of the word.

About The Corrs

The Beginning

Jim began playing music together with his older sister Sharon at the local pub “At Mc Manus.” The younger – Caroline and Andrea – were still at school. It was at this time Jim came up with the idea of a family group. This idea was supported by the parents, and then the four guys started to practice in one of the rooms of the house, directed by Jim. Jim Corr played the guitar, Caroline – the keyboards, Sharon – the violin and Andrea sang. The band rehearsed every weekend and expected a miracle. And one day the miracle happened.

Successful Debut

Inspired by the success, which accompanied their first performance in the US, Jim, Sharon, Caroline, and Andrea decided to stay for some time in USA to get a contract with a famous record label. Recording of the album “Forgiven Not Gorgotten” was held at the legendary studio of David Foster's Chartmaker Studio. Foster became a co-producer of the album. Fortunately, he decided to keep the elements of traditional Celtic music in the band's songs, and not to waste time on trying to make the music of the group more standard, Americanized. After five months of hard work, the album was completed and ready for the release. “Forgiven Not Forgotten” went out in 1995. The album was expected success in Australia and New Zealand, where a significant proportion of the population is ethnic Irish, Scots and Welsh. However, the album also appeared on the tops of the charts in the Scandinavian countries, as well as in Spain. The group held a tour to support the album, after which began recording their next album, which was supposed to open the rest of the world to the Irish group.

Further Creativity

In July 2000, a new studio album, which was called “In Blue”, went out. It immediately topped the charts in many countries. At this time, the band decided to bring elements of traditional Celtic music to a minimum, and the sound was close to the Americanized style. As a result, the music is largely lost its flavor and personality. “The Corrs”’ music began to resemble a country song. This style can be called a great-grandson of traditional Celtic folk music. Their latest disc is “White Light” (2015).
