Robin Trower Tickets

Robin Trower was born on March 9, 1945, in Catford. As a guitarist, he gained his popularity in a symphonic/progressive rock band Procol Harum. However, his solo career is as impressive. During the latest years, Robin Trower’s Band is releasing new albums quite often and his manner of playing, resembling that of Jimi Hendrix, attracts new fans. The latest Trower’s album – Where are you going to - was released on March 25, 2016. Besides, Trower is touring intensively in the support of the new album.

About Robin Trower

The Paramounts

In the early 60s, Trower moved to London, where he played in various local bands. In 1962, he formed a short-lived, but renowned The Paramounts. The band mainly played rhythm-and-blues covers. Their version of Poison Ivy hit #35 on the UK charts. The band also released a number of other cover singles but split in 1966. 

Procol Harum: The Beginnings

In The Paramounts, Trower met Gary Brooker, who later invited him to play with Procol Harum. Trower participated in recording such Procol Harum albums, as 1967's Procol Harum, 1968's Shine On Brightly, and 1969's A Salty Dog.

Robin Trower Band

In 1972 Trower left Procol Harum and started a solo career. He founded Robin Trower Band in 1973. The first, debut album, Twice Removed From Yesterday was not quite commercial, but the second one – Bridge Of Sighs (1974) was a real breakthrough. The album featured such hits as Bridge Of Sighs and Lady Love and became gold.

Collaborations and the Return to Procol Harum

After Robin Trower Band had got less successful in the early ‘80s, Trower began collaborating with Jack Bruce. Together, they released albums BLT and Truce. Another mutual album - Seven Moons – will see the world only in 2007. In 1991, the Trower returned to Procol Harum and recorded the album Prodigal Stranger. He composed the song All Our Dreams Are Sold or this album. In those years, Trower also collaborated with Bryan Ferry. In 1995, another Procol Harum album featuring Trower - The Long Goodbye – was released. Afterwards, Trower resumed solo career.
