About Rizzle Kicks
Starting with notoriety
The beginning wasn’t as hard as they expected, so in 2011, when they released their first official single, “Down with the Trumpets”, Rizzle Kicks’ notoriety was already blooming. The band was present in various festivals and even invited to support The Streets and
Dizzie Rascal. “Down with the Trumpets” was an instant hit, peaking at No. 8 in UK singles charts, having been certified gold. Several months later, Rizzle Kicks released their second official single, “When I Was a Youngster”, as successful as the previous one.
Roaring 20s
The debut album came in October 2011. “Stereo Typical” entered the chart at No. 9 and was certified platinum. “Mama do the Hump” was another great success of Brighton’s hip-hop duo, this third single peaking at No. 2 in charts, reaching a platinum level as well. The boys later featured Olly Murs on “Heart Skips a Bit”, reaching No. 1 on charts as soon as it was released.
2012 was a big year for the pair. From March to May, Rizzle Kicks went on a sellout tour, making big waves on many UK festivals throughout the summer, including “T in the Park”, “T4 on the Beach” and “Wakestock”. In autumn, they went on a mini European tour, and in December they announced that they would play at a Teenage Cancer Trust show at the Royal Albert Hall. One year later, the band released their second album, “Roaring 20s”, teaming up with
Fatboy Slim and Ant Whiting.
