English singer and songwriter Richard Paul Ashcroft was born in 1971 in Higher End, Wigan, England. At school, he got acquainted with his future partners in the group “The Verve” where he sang and played the guitar since its formation in 1990 and until its collapse in 1999. As a teenager, Ashcroft was seriously fond of football, and even wanted to become a professional player, but then he decided to devote himself to music.
About Richard Ashcroft
Musical Career: Beginning
So, Richard Ashcroft's musical career began in the early 90s, when the team “The Verve” was founded. Very quickly, the rockers have achieved popularity thanks to their works and exuberant nature. However, the musicians had disagreements on some issues, and in 1995, the band split up. They reunited in two years, but in 1999, the rockers announced about the termination of the joint venture. Almost ten years later, in 2007, “The Verve” gathered again, and even played at a few festivals, but then again, two years later, the band ceased to exist.
Solo Career
It is worth noting that Richard succeeded in his solo career, which began just after the second collapse of “The Verve” in 1999. Ashcroft’s solo debut disc “Alone With Everybody” appeared in 2000 and confidently occupied No.1 line of the UK chart. Critics received this record very well, as well as the music lovers. It even became platinum. The second album, “Human Conditions” went out in 2002, and this studio work was also highly successful and was certified gold. “Keys to the World” (2006) disc pleased the music lovers with a very interesting sound: many of the arrangements were written with London Metropolitan Orchestra to create an incredible atmosphere of “Keys to the World”.
“RPA & The United Nations of Sound”
After the third collapse of “The Verve”, Richard formed a new band “RPA & The United Nations of Sound”. They loudly declared about themselves by releasing the first single, “Are You Ready?”, which immediately attracted the attention of many music lovers. Shortly thereafter, the team went on a tour across Europe, playing in Paris, Berlin, London and other cities. Their debut studio album, “United Nations of Sound” (2010) in fact, represents the new ideas of Richard Ashcroft. This musician has established himself as a talented singer and songwriter, and “United Nations of Sound” is the best proof of this.
