“Rend Collective” (initially named “Rend Collective Experiment”) is a Christian experimental, folk rock, worship band. They came from Bangor in Northern Ireland. The lineup of the band comprises the leader and drummer Gareth Gilkeson, Will Herron and Chris Llewellyn (lead vocals, guitar), Ali Gilkeson (percussion, keyboards), Bridget Herron (lead/back vocals) and Patrick Thompson (bass guitar). Understanding the hostility of the modern world to church and Christians, they tried to produce music to encourage people to return to church.
About Rend Collective
“Rend Collective” band was created in 2002-2003. In general, the collective included over 15 participants, but only 6 of them went touring and participated in the recordings. The rest of the team just supported and encouraged the main members “spiritually, musically, and missionally.”
They issued the first studio disc “Organic Family Hymnal” in 2010. The next studio release “Homemade Worship By Handmade People” was in 2012. The recordings appeared via Kingsway. The group also let out the first live disc “Campfire” in 2013 via Integrity. The third studio work “The Art of Celebration” went out in 2014. Their two latest albums are “Campfire Christmas, Vol. 1” (2014) and “As Family We Go” (2015).
In 2011, “Rend Collective” went on the “And If Our God Is for Us... Tour” together with Chris Tomlin and Christy Nockels. The band also worked on the warming up for the “Rock and Worship Roadshow”. In 2012, they took part in the Soul Survivor and New Wine summer festivals. The same year they also went touring across the UK with Matt Redman. The collective participated in “The Struggle Tour” of “Tenth Avenue North” and Moriah Peters. To support their disc “Campfire” they made a tour with Ben Cantelon across the UK and US. Supporting their “Art of Celebration” album, they are on a tour with Kari Jobe.
