"Old Dominion" is the American country group performing modern country music with elements of rock, pop, and hip-hop. The structure of the band: Mathew Ramsey (the leading vocals, guitar), Trevor Rosen (guitar, keyboards), Whit Sellers (drums), Geooff Sprung (bass guitar), and Brad Tursi (guitar). The band was created in 2007. The band’s name designates a nickname of the State of Virginia from where the vocalist and also the drummer of group are.

Setting the fire
Ramsey and Sellers are from the Roanoke Region of Virginia. They played on drumlines in their high schools. Then Ramsey entered Virginia Commonwealth University. After graduation he went to Nashville to try himself as a songwriter. He met Rosen and formed a songwriting partnership. Sellers entered James Madison University in Virginia. Here he got acquainted with Sprung and Tursi. Sellers and Sprung also graduated in Nashville and joined Ramsey to form "Old Dominion". Tursi entered the group in 2012.
In 2014 "Old Dominion" debuted, having let out the mini-album "Old Dominion". The disk went out on October 7, 2014 at ReeSmack Records studio. The composition "Shut Me Up" reached the 58th line in a chart of Billboard Country Airplay.
Depute disk and honors
In 2015, the group let out "Meat and Candy" debut disk. The album was published on November 6, 2015 at RCA Nashville studio. Such hits as "Snapback" and "Break Up with Him" entered it. The album debuted on a position No. 16 in a chart of "Billboard 200" and No. 5 in the Billboard Country Albums Chart country list with a circulation of 20,500 copies in the first week. For March 2016, the total circulation of the album in the USA made 82,400 copies.
Their best singles are "Snapback" (2016), "Break Up with Him", (2015), "Shut Me Up" (2014).
In 2016 the band got nominated for the American Country Countdown Awards in the nominations "Duet / group of year" and for Academy of Country Music Awards in the nomination "Vocal group of year", but won as the "New group / duet of year".
