The history of this group from South Yorkshire began in 1976 when the vocalist Peter "Biff" Byford, guitarists Graham "Oli" Oliver and Paul "Blyut" Quinn, bassist Steve "Dobby" Dawson and drummer Pete "Frank" Gill worked under the name “Son Of A Bitch “. After a couple of years, musicians got tired of being “children of a bitch” and they changed the name of their team into a more noble - "Saxon".
