Nottingham Royal Concert Hall
Owned by Nottingham City Council, the Royal Concert Hall used to be the Empire Palace of Varieties which was built in 1898. This venue closed in 1958, and the building was demolished in 1969. The new Nottingham Royal Concert Hall was completed in 1982 at a cost of 12 million pounds. It holds 2,500 people and is now a leading venue for rock concerts, shows, comedy acts and orchestras. Elton John and Motorhead are among the leading acts that have played there.
