Massive Attack Tickets

In 1988, Robert 3D Del Naja, Grant Daddy G Marshall, and Andrew Vowles made a decision to create a new musical band “Massive Attack”. Their first song “Any Love” was a cover version of “Rufus & Chaka Khan”’s song made with Carlton. In some time, they re-recorded it with Tony Bryan and issued in the “Daydreaming” in 1990. Also, Shara Nelson and Tricky participated in the record.

About Massive Attack

"The Wild Bunch"

The group “The Wild Bunch”, the basis of "Massive Attack", was formed in the late 70s by Daddy G. This team should be better called not a musical group, but rather a sound system, as the musicians called themselves. And it seems to be the most precise definition of what the band looked like. These people were raised in a mix of cultures of hip-hop and reggae, they organized a tremendous party in the most criminal parts of Bristol, presenting a hellish mix of every conceivable style of music.

First Album

In 1991, “Massive Attack” issued their first disc “Blue Lines”. It was a mixture of slow hip hop and reggae together with some diluted samples of jazz and embellished recitatives of Tricky and 3D, and also a wonderful vocal of Shara Nelson and reggae legend Horace Andy, the disc noticed among global music lovers. Furthermore, the group also prepared three tracks “Daydreaming”, “Unfinished Sympathy”, and “Safe From Harm”.

Trying something new

In 1992, some remixes and processed compositions went out. New album (“Protection”) comes only in 1994. In general, it is normal for the group to release one disc in three or four years. And every new album – is an attempt to get away from the sound, mood and content of the previous one. The new disc was slower and more relaxed than the previous one. There were fewer finished samples and more live sound, the vocals of Shara Nelson was changed for Tracey Thorn and Nicolette.

New Releases

In autumn 2009, a mini-album (EP) “Splitting The Atom” was let out. A new “Heligoland” studio disc was kicked off in 2010. The vocalists in the album were Horace Andy, Martina Topley-Bird, Damon Albarn, Hope Sandoval, Guy Garvey, Grant Marshall, and Robert Del Naja.
