About Space
Style
Similarly to the majority of British bands of that period, the group’s sound was influenced by the guitar bands of the 60s’ like “The Kinks” and
The Who. They did not belong to the fans of “The Beatles”, as the majority of bands were at that time in Britain. They applied electronic instruments and samples from hip hop and classic movie soundtracks and this distinguish them form their peers. The team has also became famous thanks to its over-the-top, dark humoured lyrics, related to serial killers, failed relationships, social outcasts, and mental illness.
Creativity
The team's debut “Spiders” is an odd array of fused sounds. The track “Female of the Species” was among the most frequently featured songs on the WFNX playlist.
“Space” is far from Marilyn Manson-like satanic worshiping psychos. But they are hip crooners with a modern sound. The group’s creativity is catchy and somewhat contagious, something special. During their career, they have issued 6 studio discs. The latest one is “Give Me Your Future” (2016). The most popular singles of the band are “Neighbourhood” (1996), “Diary of a Wimp” (2000), “Zombies” (2002), “Suburban Rock 'n' Roll”, and “20 Million Miles from Earth” (2004).
