How Little Mix was born
Four future participants of the band, Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock entered the audition for the popular show ‘The X Factor’ as solo performers. However, the organizers made up their mind to gather the girls in the group. As a result, Little Mix was the 1st group to win the talent show for its eight-year history.
Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall have auditioned at the ‘X Factor’ as a solo singers in 2011 successfully, although they failed in the first test phase of the training. However, the judges wanted to give them one more opportunity to be the part of the Category "Groups". The judges sent Edwards and Nelson to quartet "Faux Pas", and Thirlwall and Pinnock - to "Orion" in the trio. Neverthless, both bands failed the auditions. Later, two girls from each group were summoned to the scene to create the band "Little Mix".
How Little Mix succeeded
Eventually, they came to live performances and Tulisa became their mentor. Their triumphant single was Damien Rice's cover "Cannonball", which came out on December 11, 2011. Documentary film "X-Factor: The Story of the winners" was broadcasted on ITV2 channel on December 17, 2011. Their debut track headed UK Singles Chart on 18 December 2011, which was # 1 on the charts of UK Singles.
In November 2012, "Little Mix" introduced their debut studio disk "DNA". On September 23, 2013, there was the premiere of the track "Move", which became the major in the 2nd studio album and its release on iTunes was held. Soon the band kicked off a video on their official channel on YouTube, announcing that the title of the second album is "Salute"(2013). The following album was "Get Weird"(2015).
