About Kendrick Lamar
Collaboration with other performers
In 2010 Lamar, together with Tech N9ne and Jay Rock goes to "The Independent Grind" tour and issues the 4th mixtape “O (verly) D (edicated)”, in which there is a track "Ignorance is Bliss" glorifying gangster rap and street criminal, but each couplet comes to an end with the line: “we know not what we do.” Thanks to this song, the legendary Dr. Dre wanted to work with Lamar.
Lamar is put to an album “Detox” from Dr. Dre, works with Snoop Dogg and signs the contract with “Aftermath Entertainment”.
The New Hero of the Western Coast
Infinite work near the microphone was not in vain and in 2011, his first studio album “Section.80” appears. The disk has caused a storm of positive emotions and in 10 days about 10 000 copies have been sold. The western coast has recognized the new hero and at one of the concerts, Snoop Dogg and “Game” praised Kendrick, calling him the new king of West Coast.
Other Albums
After the appearance of the debut disk, Lamar’s gone uphill and in a year the premiere of the second album “Good Kid, m.A.A.d City”(2012) received even more flatter comments in comparison with the debut release. The album contained tracks in which Kendrick told about problems in Compton. Kendrick has passed to a new step in the career.
In 2015, the 3rd official album “To Pimp A Butterfly” was issued, and the track "i" has got 2 awards Grammy. In general, the album was very much successful and sounded in west coast style. The subject of songs was quite habitual for Kendrick, containing texts about problems of the black population with law and racism from police and the authorities.
His other successful mixtapes are “Youngest Head Nigga In Charge” (2003), “C4” (2009).
