Frightened Rabbit is an indie rock band, formed in 2003 and originated from Selkirk, Scotland. The lineup currently consists of Scott Hutchison(rhythm guitar, lead vocalist), Grant Hutchison (backing vocals, percussion, drums), Billy Kennedy (bass, guitar, backing vocals, keyboards), Andy Monaghan (keyboards, bass guitar), and Simon Liddell ( guitar, keyboards). The group has been based in Glasgow since 2004. A unique name of the group comes from the lead vocalist’s nickname from childhood that he acquired due to his shyness.

History
It has been initially a solo project for guitarist and vocalist Scott Hutchison. The band’s debut studio album, called “Sing the Greys”, was recorded as a duet by Scott and his brother Grant. It was released in 2006 on an independent label, Hits the Fan. The second studio album, named “The Midnight Organ Fight” which was released in 2008. The album ended up getting strong positive feedback and led to extensive touring.
Frightened Rabbit’s third studio album, called “The Winter of Mixed Drinks”, came out in 2010. The band signed to Atlantic Records later that year and released two EPs, one in 2011, called “A Frightened Rabbit EP” and another one in 2012, named “State Hospital”, before the release of “Pedestrian Verse” - their fourth studio album in 2013. With commercial and critical success in the UK, the album ended up at number nine in the UK Albums Chart.
Owl John
Disillusioned from touring, Liddell, Monaghan and Hutchison recorded a studio album without the rest of the group in 2014. The album is called “Owl John”. The following year the band records their fifth studio album with producer Aaron Dessner (The National), in New York. At that point, Liddell also joined the band as a fully contributing member.
