Marshall Bruce Mathers III (Eminem) was born on October 17, 1972 in the city of Kansas, Missouri, the USA. Eminem's father deserted a family when the boy was 18 months old. From this point, his mother Déby was engaged in his education. In 1996, Eminem recorded the first album “Infinite”, which didn't receive big publicity and was badly apprehended by public. At that time Eminem didn't know in what rap style he would like to act, but was upset with the first failure.
About Eminem
Becoming a legend
Despite the failure at the initial stage and difficulty, which he had to face, Eminem continued the creativity. In 1998, he records the second album “The Slim Shady EP”. The famous rapper and the producer Dr. Dre noticed this album incidentally. He signed the contract with Eminem subsequently and suggested to republish the album. So, in 1999, the album “The Slim Shady LP”, which became the best-seller, was published. Popularity of the album was especially promoted by the success of the video clip "My Name Is", often appeared on MTV. It became multiplatinum, won 2 awards of Grammy and 4 MTV Video Music Awards.
In May, 2000, Eminem lets out the second disk “The Marshall Mathers LP” in which he shows his talent from the different sides. His songs vary from very ridiculous ("The Real Slim Shady"), to incredibly sad ("Stan"), unreasonably cruel ("Kim") and self-critical ("The Way I Am").
The album “MMLP” was sold out by 19-million circulation, won Grammy award.
Public indignation
Nevertheless, “The Marshall Mathers LP” was the subject for critics for excessive cruelty, glorification of drugs and homophobia. To prove that these were only words in the song, Eminem performed in a duet with Elton John at the ceremony of Grammy Awards (they sang "Stan").
In 2002, Eminem lets out the new solo album “The Eminem Show”, the next incredibly popular album with the songs "Without Me", "Cleaning Out my Closet" and "Sing for the Moment".
His following album “Encore” (2004) was less popular, but it also includes songs, which became hits, for example: "Like Toy Soldiers" and "Mockingbird".
Returning to life
In 2009, after a 5-year break, Eminem lets out “Relapse” album with the single "Beautiful".
In 2010, Eminem lets out one more album, “Recovery” which describes his fight against dependence and the experience of rehabilitation. It won Grammy award. “Recovery” is considered the most well apprehended, soft and inspiring album of Eminem.
