About Editors
Early Days
In the early days, when the band were known as The Pride, the band produced a promo with tracks, "Come Share the View" and "Forest Fire" which were then uploaded on the internet available to listen to on BBC Radio 1's Onemusic Unsigned. While they kept things relatively low key, they also took their music offline a little while later to add more mystery to the band and entice more A&R reps to come and see them. In 2003 the band replaced the drummer at the time, Geraint Owens, with current drummer Edward Lay and changed their name to Snowfield.
First Signing
October 2004 saw indie label Kitchenware Records NIL sign the group, and, in July 2005 their debut album, The Back Room, was released. It reached number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and got platinum sales. This album was a great success and included popular hits such as "Munich" and "Blood". Their second album entitled An End Has a Start (2007) included top 10 hit record "Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors" and was an even bigger success than their debut album hitting number 1 in the UK Album Charts as well as going platinum.
Continued Success
The group continued to succeed in several areas over the next five years, with another UK number 1 album, In This Light and on This Evening, and another five singles. But, in 2012, the band lost one of their members, Chris Urbanowicz. Due to musical differences, he decided to leave the group. But, by June 2012 new members Justin Lockey and Elliot Williams had been recruited and the band were back doing business. During 2014 and 2015 the band continued to release further three singles, "Sugar", "Marching Orders", and "Life Is a Fear" as well as their fifth album, In Dream, which peaked at number 5 on the UK Album Charts.
