“Sigur Rós” is an Icelandic post-rock band formed in 1994. The lineup is: Jónsi ( Jón Þór Birgisson, vocals, guitar), Georg Holm (bass guitar), Kjartan Sveinsson (keys, guitar), Orri Dyrason (drums). Bravely stating that they “will completely change the future of music”, the Icelandic quartet invents their own style, built their own musical world full of dramatic, romantic and repulsive things at the same time. Their homeland is partially “guilty” in their blatant originality. Iceland, which, as we know, has never been the center of the rock and roll culture, bewitches once and for all. The musicians of “Sigur Rós” have no idea how long they can live abroad, not to mention the fact, to leave it forever.
