Chris Stapleton was born on April 15, 1978 in Lexington, the State of Kentucky. He grew up in a small town Staffordsville, Kentucky. In 2001, he went to Nashville and soon signed the contract with Sea Gayle Music publishing house. He worked as a studio musician and composed songs for other performers.“The SteelDrivers” group
From 2008 to 2010 Stapleton was the leading vocalist and the guitarist of “The SteelDrivers” bluegrass-group. In 2009, "The SteelDrivers" won International Bluegrass Music Association Award.
