Jason Joel Desrouleaux was born in 1989 in Miami, the State of Florida. His parents are natives Haiti, and the very difficult surname – Desrouleaux – Jason changed to a scenic pseudonym – Derulo. The first song “Crush on You” he wrote at the age of 8. In childhood, he was engaged in acting, opera and ballet, and basketball playing.
