The group was formed in 1978 in Birmingham, Great Britain. At the end of 1980, Duran Duran went touring together with Hazel O'Connor and then signed the contract with EMI Records. In 1981, the group issued the debut single “Planet Earth”, which has got to the British 20. But the "Careless Memories” issued after, hardly got to Top 40.
