Career take off

Beck has started his “career” from performing locally in the clubs and coffeehouses. After he moved to New York in 1989, he became involved in small anti-folk movement. Upon his returning to Los Angeles in 1990s, he came up with his breakthrough song “Loser”, that became famous worldwide in 1994. AT the same time he released his first big album – “Mellow Gold”. His next album “Odelay” which saw the world in 1996, also produced a couple of hits and won few awards. Then the psychedelic “Mutations” came up in 1998, followed by the next album “Midnite Vultures” in 1999. After that Beck showed his more serious side and released the soft-acoustic album “Sea Change” in 2002. The album “Guero”, released in 2005, sounded somewhat similar to “Odelay”. Beck releases “The Information” in 2006, “Modern Guilt” in 2008 and “Morning Phase” in 2014. The latter one has won the Album of the Year title at the 57th Grammy Award in 2015. Presumably, Beck is currently working on his 13th album which will include his “Wow” and “Dream” singles.

The best of the best

Beck’s most famous albums are “Sea Change” and “Odelay” were ranked on the Rolling Stone’s list of 500 greatest albums of all times. The majority of people have heard songs of Beck at least once in their lifetime. Their names might bring some memories: “Sleeping Bag”, “Devil’s Haircut”, “Loser”, “Pay No Mind (Snoozer)”, and, of course, “Lost Cause”.
