About Bear's Den
Straddling The Atlantic
Bear's Den released two EPs in 2013, Agape and Without/Within. Their first album, Islands, was released by Communion Records in 2014, reaching number 49 on the UK Albums Chart, number 7 in the first official UK Americana Chart and number 9 in the top selling Americana albums of 2015. It was re-released toward the end of 2015 as a deluxe edition with additional live tracks. Red Earth & Pouring Rain was released on 22 July 2016.
The band's first tour across the USA with Ben Howard, Nathaniel Rateliff and
The Staves, was the subject of a 2014 documentary, Austin to Boston by James Marcus Haney, which premiered at the 58th BFI London Film Festival. That tour was so successful that they had returned more than once with
Mumford & Sons and Daughter. Unusually for an up and coming British band, they have also headlined. In 2013 they toured Australia with Matt Corby.
Success
In June 2014 Bear's Den received the £2,500 Momentum Deezer Award from the PRS for Music Foundation. They have been nominated for several music awards since, with Above The Clouds of Pompeii earning the band a nomination for an Ivor Novello Award. The band received two nominations at the UK Americana Awards in 2016, Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for Agape.
Bear's Den's unique brand of alternative Rock is so popular that tours on both sides of the Atlantic have sold out. They performed at international festivals including Reading and Leeds, Glastonbury Festival, Lollapalooza, Citadel, Somersault, NOS Alive, BBK, Squamish, Pukkelpop, Lowlands, Bonnaroo and Dockville.
Their 2016 autumn tour of Europe will include their biggest headline show to date at Brixton Academy.
