Alien Ant Farm is a rock band, formed in 1996 in California, USA. The band has released five studio albums, and 5 million units were sold around the world. You might know the band for their Michael Jackson “Smooth Criminal” cover. Current band members are Dryden Mitchell (acoustic guitar, rhythm guitar, lead vocals), Terry Corso (backing vocals, slide guitar, lead guitar), Tim Peugh (backing vocals, bass guitar) and Mike Cosgrove (percussion, drums).

History
Even though the band was formed in the mid-1990s, their first, debut album was released in 1999 and was called “Greatest Hits”, featuring the first version of “Smooth Criminal”. That year it won Best Independent Album in the L.A. Music Awards. A year after, in 2000, after developing a friendship with the group Papa Roach, the band signed with DreamWorks SKG. Together they released their next studio album, “Anthology”.
In 2001, their cover of Michael Jackson's song, "Smooth Criminal", was a number 1 in in the US Modern Rock Chart, number 3 in the United Kingdom, and number 1 in New Zealand and Australia. The song also appeared in few movies. Soon the group started touring in promotion of their two singles and their debut album, which eventually became platinum.
In spring of 2002, the band created "Bug Bytes" as a soundtrack to the first Spider-Man. Over the next years, the band went through their record company closing its doors, group members leaving the band and rejoining again as well as releasing few more albums.

Among the most popular songs that you could recognise, would be definitely “Smooth Criminal”, “These Days”, “Around The Block” and “Glow”. The latter one was a mainstream radio success and achieved long lasting success in New Zealand Top 20. You might also recognise a song “Dark In Here”, which also appeared in the video game “The Punisher”.
